A global view of the patient
Understanding health through the interaction between the different systems of the body, also taking into account lifestyle and individual context.
Broadening the view, without giving up rigour

In the first person
I hold a degree in Medicine from the University of Valencia and have been a specialist in Urology since 2017. For years I have practised in the hospital setting, in both clinical medicine and surgery, a profession that has given me a solid grounding in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and that remains part of my professional career.
It was precisely my daily experience with patients, both in the consulting room and in the operating theatre, that awakened in me the need to broaden my way of understanding medicine. As a surgeon, I saw how two patients undergoing the same operation could progress very differently during the postoperative period. While one recovered quickly and with hardly any complications, the other could show a much more intense inflammatory response, persistent pain or a slower recovery, even though the surgical procedure had been similar.
That led me to ask new questions. Could there be biochemical, metabolic or immune differences capable of shaping each person’s response to the same insult? Why did some bodies seem to resolve an inflammatory process properly while others kept up an exaggerated response or showed a reduced ability to regain balance?
At the same time, in the consulting room I often saw patients with persistent symptoms that did not improve despite the usual treatments. People with real discomfort, but in whom conventional tests did not always make it possible to identify a clear cause or to explain why they still felt unwell.
I felt that, in some cases, there might be an underlying cause that I was not managing to identify. And if I did not understand what was happening, I could not help my patients the way I wanted to.
That is where it all began.
That concern led me to extend my training and to go deeper into Clinical Psychoneuroimmunology, Clinical Nutrition, Cellular Medicine and Bioimmunogenetics, taking on a broader view of the interaction between microbiota, metabolism, the immune system, the nervous system, nutrition, lifestyle and genetic predisposition. I am currently continuing my training in the field of ageing and longevity.
Today, my way of practising medicine comes from bringing both worlds together: experience in conventional medicine and surgery, and an integrative, personalised and precision-based view. It is not a matter of replacing one medicine with another, but of broadening the view, better understanding the mechanisms that may lie behind disease and offering each patient a strategy adapted to their history, their biology and their needs.

My philosophy
Integracel Clinic was founded with the aim of offering a different way of understanding medicine.
The clinic starts from the idea that many health problems cannot be understood by analysing only the symptom or the affected organ.
Each person should be studied as a whole, taking into account the interaction between the different systems of the body and the factors that may influence their balance.
Integrative medicine makes it possible to broaden the view of conventional medicine by incorporating diagnostic and therapeutic tools that help to better understand the origin of certain processes.
All of this from scientific rigour and evidence-based medicine.
Values
Six ideas that shape the way we work at Integracel Clinic.
